Payroll Specialist

Overview The Payroll Specialist is the mastermind behind biweekly payroll for four companies across Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming. They are the go-to person for payroll-related questions, perform research, provide technical support, manage special projects, and ensure payroll accuracy and timeliness. They also assist employees with payroll inquiries and act as the payroll subject matter expert. Responsibilities Run the payroll for 800+ employees across multiple companies, handling bi-weekly pay, monthly bonuses, and other scheduled payrolls. Manage the payroll workflow, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time. Reconcile payroll and verify accuracy before distribution. Handle employer-paid benefits taxation and ensure compliance with tax requirements. Master time and attendance processing in ADP (WFMgr) and sync with payroll. Process garnishments and balance accounts after each payroll cycle, ensuring timely submission. Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for various agencies. Take on additional HR administrative tasks as needed and collaborate with Benefits. Qualifications Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with others to achieve tasks. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment. Open to change, flexible, patient, and proactive in identifying process improvements. Ability to make quick decisions and keep management informed, escalating issues as necessary. Solution-focused thinking and the ability to communicate clearly about HR topics. Effective written and verbal communication skills for emails, chats, and phone calls. Ability to work with minimal handholding and collaborate to complete tasks. Dependable, adaptable, and able to maintain confidentiality. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of payroll processing experience. Proficiency with Excel and comfortable using computers and standard office equipment. Knowledge of federal, state, and county payroll rules. Experience with payroll best practices; familiarity with ADP Lyric and WFMgr is a plus. Comfortable working in an office environment with a pet-friendly policy. Ability to work in a temperature-controlled office environment; may require long periods at a desk or computer.
