Building and Grounds Associate
Georgia-Pacific in Madison, Georgia is now hiring for a Facility Building and Grounds Associate. This position will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of plant's buildings and properties.
Shift: Day Shift Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:00 pm

- Maintaining gardens and lawns, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, watering plants, installing sprinkler and irrigation systems, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching, and applying pesticides.
- Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc.
- Maintains, repairs, and requests all tools required for performing job duties as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned and/or filling in other B&G team roles as required.
- Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
- Working in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment to include extended periods of time in non-air conditioned or unheated areas.
- Performing tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 10 (ten) hours a day.
- Working safely, and adhering to all safety rules and regulations, including wearing and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other PC-based production reporting systems applications
- Previous industrial experience in heavy industry
