Registered Dietitian (RD) - Bariatric Case Coordinator

Overview Sign‑on Bonus Available! Relocation bonus available for >50mi. The Dietitian/ Bariatric Coordinator provides nutrition education and counseling to clinic patients and patient groups. The role assesses the nutritional needs of the outpatient, develops and implements a nutrition care plan, and creates programs for the general public, community organizations, and professional staff. The Coordinator works directly with the MBS Director, attends required meetings, assists in program development, manages the accreditation process, ensures compliance with MBSAQIP Standards, and educates team members on metabolic and bariatric patient safety. The Coordinator must be present and actively participate in each MBSAQIP site visit for their current center. Qualifications Registered Dietitian (RD) – Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition Relevant work experience in clinical or bariatric nutrition practice Responsibilities Provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with patients’ medical goals. Identify and provide age‑specific nutrition counseling that meets cultural needs of patients and their families. Evaluate, interpret, monitor and document nutritional status and needs using established standards of care and practice guidelines. Develop, review, update and implement educational materials for patients and professionals. Conduct pre‑operative nutrition assessment and documentation for patients seeking weight‑loss surgery. Provide pre‑operative weight management and nutritional education for weight‑loss surgery candidates. Educate patients on dietary guidelines for the immediate post‑operative period after surgery. Offer ongoing education for diet advancement and continued weight management after surgery. Participate in bariatric multi‑disciplinary committees to improve patient outcomes. Lead the Bariatric Patient Support Group to provide education and support for patients in a group setting. Lead the Bariatric Information Seminar to provide information regarding weight‑loss surgery in a group setting. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $26.10 per hour – $43.59 per hour. This range is a good faith minimum and maximum estimate for the role. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
