Water Resources Engineer

PSR Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading engineering consultancy to recruit a Water Resources Engineer to join its growing team in Austin, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a civil, environmental, or water resources engineer with experience in water infrastructure planning and design to contribute to a wide range of water supply and utility projects. The role will involve working on water supply systems, infrastructure planning studies, and design support for municipal and utility clients. The successful candidate will be involved in the planning, analysis, and design of water infrastructure projects from early-stage studies through to detailed design and construction support, working as part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists. What’s on Offer Hybrid (in-person and remote) working arrangement Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance 401(k) with company contributions Generous paid time off (PTO) Parental leave and wellness programs Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Access to internal and external training programmes Performance-based bonus opportunities Key Responsibilities Support planning and design of water infrastructure projects for municipal and utility clients Prepare feasibility studies, planning reports, and preliminary engineering reports (PERs) Contribute to design of water supply systems, conveyance, treatment, and distribution infrastructure Perform engineering calculations and technical analysis to support design decisions Develop construction drawings and technical documentation using Civil 3D and AutoCAD Assist with permitting and regulatory compliance requirementsAnalyse groundwater, surface water, and infrastructure datasets to support project planning Use GIS tools (ArcGIS/QGIS) to support mapping, modelling, and infrastructure planning Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, surveyors, and technical specialists Support QA/QC procedures across design and reporting deliverables Assist with construction-phase support including technical queries and design clarifications Maintain project documentation and contribute to successful project delivery Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related discipline Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required; PE preferred or actively pursuing licensure 3–7+ years of experience in water resources or water infrastructure engineering Experience in water supply planning, utility infrastructure, or related civil engineering projects Familiarity with hydraulic analysis, design calculations, or infrastructure planning studies Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or similar design software Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS) is advantageous Please note that any offer of employment will be contingent upon the successful completion of applicable pre-employment background checks and verification.
