What is Uptown Cheapskate? Uptown Cheapskate is rooted in sustainable fashion, upcycling, and helping the environment. We buy gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories from people in the community, paying cash on the spot or offering 25% more in store credit. We then sell those quality items in our store at huge discounts compared to retail. Every day we help the community refresh their wardrobe, express their personal style, and look and feel confident without breaking the bank.

We’re looking for a part time and full time Buyers to join the team at our Uptown Cheapskate Durham location. Must be available to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week, including some weekends. Store Location: 4215 University Dr. Suite 4 Durham NC27707

Responsibilities:

Be helpful and nice to our customers - our store vibe is everything

Presort incoming clothes, shoes, and accessories brought in from vendors (people from the community who want to sell to us)

Use our computer system to buy in and price incoming items

Organize racks, tag and hang up clothing

Ring out customers on the register and teach them how to sell to us

Help make posts on our social media pages

Merchandise! Organize clothing, handbags, and shoes, make the store look pretty!
