Crater Packer LeadCustom Crate Lead Directs and assists Crater-Packers building packaging wood and fiber wrap containers using power tools and saws. Assist assigned supervisor in training Crater Packers to assemble wood and fiber wrap builds. Lead will ensure compliance of packaging materials and products are in accordance with written work instructions and best practice visuals. Lead in conjunction with the Crater-Packers will also operate the overhead crane and assist the supervisor in ensuring it is being operated in accordance with safe operating procedures.Responsibilities:Follow all Crown Packaging safety and health rules and regulations, and wear or use required protective equipment while working. Report hazardous conditions to the employer. Report any job-related injury or illness to the supervisor or manager and seek treatment promptly.Demonstrate high level carpentry skills by building shipping containers and packaging crates using various tools, nail guns, power drills and power saws (i.e., Panel Saw, Horizontal Band Saw, Miter Saw, and Cabinet Table Saw).Ensure all work instructions and best practices are utilized on all crate and fiber wrap builds.Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the wood shop and surrounding areas are maintained as outlined by the management team.Demonstrate working understanding of the quality processes.Demonstrate good attendance on a consistent basis.Consistently follow all rules for safe use and storage of power saws and drills.Perform work timely and accurately.Maintain pace to ensure orders will be completed on time and accurately.Perform required start up or end of shift procedures.Requirements:Able to sit, walk, and move around for long hours at a time.Must demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills.Must be able to stand 8-10 hours a day constantly. Ability to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally.Must be knowledgeable of all safety protocols and PPE requirements.Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work in stressful situations.Ability to perform basic math.Ability to read and understand written instructions.Demonstrate attention to detail.Ability to follow and enforce directions, quality, and safety procedures.Demonstrate excellent computer skills.
