Lab Medical Assistant - Med Arts Building

Seeking a Tampa-based phlebotomist with pediatric experience or 1+ year of high-volume active draws (10+ sticks/day), confident with difficult veins and infant collections, and able to maintain a calm, steady demeanor. Facility: St Josephs Med Arts Building
Location: Tampa, FL
Status: PRN
Shift Hours: Varies
Weekend Work: Every Other
On Call: Yes
Responsibilities
The Lab Medical Assistant II is responsible for:
- Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
- Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
- Referring specimens to outside laboratories
- Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
- Performance of phlebotomy procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience
- Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field
Education
- Required High School or equivalent
- Or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience
Credentials
- Driver's License
Credential Equivalent Experience
- Preferred Phlebotomy
