Welder Fabricator

Welder PositionThe welder is responsible for the assembly and fabrication of all dock structures and components. This position requires the team member to work five days per week and eight hours per day. Seasonal schedule changes may take place at management discretion.Duties & Responsibilities:Read and understand blueprints prior to starting a projectSource the materials to be used in the projectMeasure and cut materials to specificationsWeld materials using the correct weld procedures to join the metals togetherCheck finished work to ensure it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprintsMaintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work areaNotifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discoveredMust be able to lift, carry, and push up to 75 lbsPerform other duties as assigned or apparentNeed to be comfortable with working at elevated heightsMinimum Qualifications and Requirements:Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitudeHigh school diploma or GED required2+ years of welding experience with steelsThorough understanding machines and tools used in weldingMIG welding and shop fabrication experience preferred but not requiredAbility to read weld symbols and follow blueprintsExcellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of formsBasic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignmentsManual dexterity and stability as required for precision workMust be friendly to all customers and team membersStrong passion for providing excellent hospitality and customer serviceMaintain a thorough understanding of all marina operations to be able to assist at all timesAdaptable to work composed of a variety of different tasksAbility to manage multiple projects at a time despite interruptionsAbility to make independent decisions and determine the appropriate course of actionProfessional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnelStrong work ethic, personal commitment and self-motivationAbility to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goalsAbility to be a self-starter and work independentlyMust have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workMust have or be willing to obtain boaters safety licensesMust be able to safely operate forklift and obtain forklift certificationMust have availability to be on call for emergency scenarios after normal hours of operationPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbsAbility to work comfortably around waterAbility to work in tight spacesAbility to work at heights of up to 30 feetStand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb, crawl, bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, graspCompany Summary:TopSide Marinas was cofounded in 2020 as a family-owned company that acquires, owns, and operates high-quality marinas across the country.
