Our offering consists of equipment, accessories, and services for sample preparation, storage and protection, and analysis.Marietta | Thermo Fisher ScientificHow will you make an impact?As a Manufacturing Technician, you will be critical to our production success by fabricating and constructing high-quality refrigeration systems for standard and custom laboratory equipment. Your technical expertise will ensure our products meet the exacting standards required by pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and research institutions worldwide who depend on our equipment for life-saving discoveries.What will you do?Product Fabrication & AssemblyFabricate and assemble products and parts according to specifications, build sheets, and documented instructions with emphasis on personal/environmental safety and qualityRoute tubing, braze connections, and inspect for leaks in a manner that meets quality and safety standardsBolt, screw, cement, braze, or fasten parts together using hand tools or portable power toolsOperate tube cutting and flaring equipment using machines and hand toolsSystem Testing & Quality ControlEvacuate and charge refrigeration units by pumping gases and oils per documented specificationsInspect assembly components for leaks by connecting gas handler and performing specified processesPerform final inspection to ensure all faults have been identified and resolved before releaseVerify conformance of workpiece to specifications using scales, refrigeration gauges, vacuum and pressure gauges, calipers, and measuring toolsInterpret test data from charts and reports to ensure operational quality of finished unitsCalibrate circuit boards as designated by PSS in conjunction with product specificationsTroubleshooting & RepairTroubleshoot work-related problems by applying knowledge and experience toward resolution and taking appropriate steps for assistancePerform mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration-related troubleshooting and make necessary repairsIdentify root causes of faults, determine best action for resolution, and complete repairs to ensure units operate properlyRemove burrs and rough spots from parts with hand file and portable pneumatic grinder when neededDocumentation & Data ManagementComplete documents such as Final Inspection Reports and Total Quality Control sheets as determined by process guidelinesEnter and retrieve data by unit/serial number for final inspection reports and testing using Excel and other applicationsEnter product-related data into computer system to track component serial numbers, scan bar codes, production rates, and physical locationSafety & ComplianceTransport, store, and replace gases and tanks by identifying contents and understanding related safety issuesMaintain compliance with all safety protocols and environmental regulationsPerform other duties as assignedHow will you get here?EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredRequired QualificationsAbility to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructionsPhysical ability to stand, bend, reach, and handle bulky parts throughout the shiftCapability to frequently lift up to 35 poundsBasic computer and keyboarding skillsMust obtain initial brazing certification after onboarding and maintain recertificationPreferred QualificationsRefrigerant Recovery Certification and completion of Basic Refrigeration CoursePrevious experience with brazing and/or using torchOne year of experience in refrigeration, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, or industrial settingWhat We Offer:Competitive Pay Performance Related Bonus where eligible Annual merit performance-based increase Excellent Benefits Medical benefits Paid Time Off/Annual Leave Employee Referral Bonus Career Advancement Opportunities
