Medical Laboratory Scientists at Henry Ford West Bloomfield function as generalists, rotating weekly through four core departments to maintain competency across all areas. The lab operates with a strong focus on quality and process improvement, encouraging team members to contribute ideas for positive change. With a consistently high testing volume, MLS professionals focus entirely on bench work while actively collaborating with nurses and healthcare teams to ensure timely communication of critical results. The laboratory is undergoing significant advancements, including a new automation line and updated instrumentation in 2025, providing opportunities for learning and growth. Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework aligned to Medical Laboratory discipline.
• Certification as a BB, C, CG, CT, M, MB, or meets AAB/AMT certification requirements.
• Six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Certification at the technologist or medical/clinical lab scientist level from ASCP, AMT, ASM, AAB, AABB, ACS, or HEW.
