Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team at our Garden Center. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions and assisting with various store operations. Your ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive attitude will be essential in creating a welcoming environment for our shoppers.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register efficiently and accurately, processing customer transactions.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
• Assist in stocking and organizing tables and unloading racks of plants as needed.
• Assist customers with helping them load their vehicles.
• Engage in sales activities by promoting store products and services to customers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and surrounding spaces.
• Utilize phone etiquette when answering calls or directing inquiries to appropriate personnel.
• Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures to maintain accuracy in financial transactions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
• Familiarity with Garden Center operations is advantageous but not required.
• Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly, ensuring adherence to cash handling policies.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stocking and inventory management.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Plant knowledge is helpful but not required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
