Registered Nurse - Cardiac Care Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30). Weekend coverage required every other weekend, with potential adjustments based on needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care to inpatient adults with actual or potential life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions. The nurse will work in a dynamic environment, focusing on patients with various cardiovascular diagnoses such as sepsis, myocardial infarction, and unstable angina. Responsibilities will include the administration of IV antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation.

Responsibilities

• Administer vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications.
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret EKGs.
• Perform thrombolytic therapy, defibrillation, and cardioversion as needed.
• Conduct thoracentesis and manage non-invasive blood pressure monitoring.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including Physical Therapy and Pharmacy services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current South Carolina RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a cardiac care unit.
• 1 year of EPIC EMR experience needed.
• Travel experience is preferred.
