Accounting Manager

Position Overview We are a dynamic real estate firm seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a background in retail to oversee financial operations and ensure accurate reporting for our property portfolio. This role will manage accounting processes, support retail property performance analysis, and collaborate with property management teams to drive financial success. Core Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and financial statement preparation for retail properties. Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and real estate industry standards. Analyze financial performance of retail properties, including lease revenue, occupancy rates, and expense tracking, to provide actionable insights. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic planning for retail development and leasing activities. Supervise a small accounting team, providing guidance on retail-specific financial reporting and process improvements. Coordinate with property managers to ensure accurate rent rolls, CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, and tenant billing. Liaise with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions to facilitate audits and secure financing for retail projects. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets across the retail property portfolio. Assist in retail lease negotiations by providing financial data and lease abstraction support. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. 5-7 years of accounting experience, including 2-3 years in a managerial role, with specific experience in retail or real estate accounting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks, or MRI) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong knowledge of retail lease accounting, CAM charges, and property tax regulations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
