About The Opportunity We are proactively building a talent pipeline for an experienced Office Designer / Designer / Selections Coordinator to support future residential remodeling projects. This is a future opportunity , not an immediate opening. Qualified professionals will be considered as upcoming project needs arise. This role is focused on client selections, design coordination, materials, specifications, and construction alignment . It is not primarily a drafting or architectural production position. Key Responsibilities Design & Selections Guide clients through selections for cabinetry, flooring, tile, countertops, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, appliances, and other finishes. Help clients make practical, cohesive selections that align with project scope and budget. Coordinate design intent and selections with Project Managers and field teams. Maintain organized selections schedules, approvals, and documentation. Identify and resolve design questions before they create delays or rework. Construction & Procurement Coordination Translate selections into clear, organized, build-ready information. Confirm product specifications, finishes, quantities, and other relevant details. Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and showrooms as needed. Track lead times, revisions, substitutions, and approvals. Ensure selections align with project scope, budget, sequencing, and procurement requirements. Client & Team Communication Serve as a professional resource for homeowners throughout the selections process. Communicate options, recommendations, decisions, and next steps clearly. Collaborate with Project Managers, leadership, vendors, and field personnel. Proactively communicate potential issues before they affect schedule or production. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in residential design, interior design, selections coordination, kitchen & bath design, remodeling, or a related construction environment. Experience working directly with residential clients. Strong knowledge of residential finishes, materials, fixtures, and cabinetry. Practical understanding of residential construction and how design decisions affect the field. Excellent organization, documentation, and attention to detail. Strong communication and client-service skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, selections, and deadlines. Self-directed professional with sound judgment and strong follow-through. Experience in residential remodeling, design-build, builder-side design, material procurement, or showroom/vendor coordination is highly valued. Engagement & Compensation This opportunity is structured as a 1099 independent contractor engagement . It is intended for an independent design professional who can manage their work based on agreed project scopes, deliverables, and milestones. Depending on project needs, the engagement may be structured per project, per phase, or through a recurring retainer . Compensation will be based on scope, experience, responsibilities, and project requirements. The independent professional is responsible for applicable taxes, insurance, business expenses, tools, and professional obligations. What Success Looks Like Clients feel confident and well-guided throughout selections. Decisions are clearly documented and approved before production. Project Managers receive accurate, actionable information. Vendors have timely and accurate specifications.
