Location: Warren, OH
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Dock Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on commercial and industrial facility equipment. This is a hands-on role focused heavily on dock systems, commercial doors, automatic doors, overhead doors, locks, and door hardware .

The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working independently while communicating professionally with customers and coworkers.

What You’ll Do

Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial and commercial facility equipment

Service and maintain dock levelers, dock seals, dock bumpers, dock locks, and related equipment

Maintain automatic doors, hollow metal doors, overhead doors, commercial locks, and door hardware

Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems

Perform routine inspections and shift rounds to identify equipment issues and document operating conditions

Measure operating characteristics such as speed, pressure, vacuum, and vibration

Replace belts, hoses, filters, fluids, and other wear items as needed

Perform filter changes, condenser cleaning, oil changes, lubrication, and greasing

Complete basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, painting, and building repairs

Troubleshoot power supplies and perform basic rigging

Use CMMS/work-order systems to document completed work and maintenance findings

Recommend updates to preventive maintenance procedures based on equipment findings

Communicate work status, issues, and expected completion times with customers and coworkers

Provide guidance to subcontractors when needed

Follow all OSHA, lockout/tagout, hazardous energy control, and other safety requirements

Complete required training related to confined spaces, hazardous energy, and life-critical work practices

What We’re Looking For

3+ years of experience servicing and maintaining commercial dock levelers, doors, automatic doors, dock locks, and overhead door hardware

Experience with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems

Strong troubleshooting skills, including power supplies

Basic rigging experience

Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge

Experience maintaining dock maintenance records

Ability to use hand tools and power tools, including multimeters, portable rigging, and support jacks

Ability to disassemble and reassemble fixtures, fans, pumps, HVAC equipment, and other building equipment

Forklift, scissor lift, and aerial lift experience

Ability to use computers, smartphones, tablets, email, and work-order/CMMS systems

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and customer needs

Valid driver’s license

High school diploma or equivalent required

AAADM certification preferred

Experience with commercial door manufacturers such as Rite-Hite, Poweramp, NABCO, Stanley Access Technologies, Record, Tormax, ASSA ABLOY, or Allegion is preferred

Safety & Physical Requirements

Must be comfortable performing hands-on mechanical work in an industrial environment

Must be able to follow detailed safety procedures and perform lockout/tagout

Must be able to safely operate required lifts and equipment

Must be willing to support occasional non-standard schedules or weekend work when needed

Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and commitment to quality are essential
