Program Support Assistant

Summary The position is at the full performance level located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), at the Greater Los Angeles VA Medical Center (VAMC) in the CERS: Community Resource and Referral Center (CRRC). Learn more about this agency Duties Help The primary purpose of the Housing Management Assistant is to link Veterans in the Community Resource and Referral Center (CRRC). to permanent housing. The Housing Management Assistant will establish and maintain relationships with landlords, private agencies, non-profit agencies, and governmental agencies who serve the homeless, as well as VA staff who work with Veterans in need of transitional or permanent housing. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm Compressed/Flexible: Not available Telework: Not available Virtual: This is not a virtual position. - To be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process. In addition to the application and questionnaire, this position requires an online assessment. The online assessment measures critical general competencies required to perform the job.

- Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process. Acceptable form(s) of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements ( Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)

- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the private sector or federal service applying knowledge of housing assistance programs; providing property search services; supplying information or instructions to clients regarding tenant rights and responsibilities; and linking veterans into permanent housing.
- Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4-year course of study post high school; or combination of experience and education.
- Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education.
