KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•     Plan, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and facility environments
•     Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical specifications accurately
•     Ensure all electrical installations and repairs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), state codes, and local Birmingham ordinances
•     Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, systems, and components to minimize downtime and extend service life
•     Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults, failures, and system malfunctions efficiently and safely
•     Coordinate electrical work with other trades, contractors, project managers, and facility personnel
•     Pull permits, interface with inspectors, and manage code compliance documentation as required
•     Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed
•     Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and on-the-job training to apprentices and journeyman electricians on the team
•     Enforce and model safe work practices in compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times
•     Evaluate electrical systems and make recommendations for upgrades, repairs, or improvements to management
•     Respond to electrical emergencies and urgent service needs in a timely and professional manner

REQUIREMENTS
•     Valid Alabama Master Electrician License — required, non-negotiable
•     Minimum 5 years of electrical experience with at least 2 years operating at the master level or equivalent supervisory capacity
•     Expert-level knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Alabama state electrical regulations
•     Demonstrated experience across commercial, industrial, or institutional electrical systems — residential-only background will not be sufficient
•     Ability to read and interpret complex electrical blueprints, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications
•     Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex electrical issues efficiently under pressure
•     Commitment to safety — OSHA 30 certification preferred; OSHA 10 minimum
•     Solid communication skills — ability to interface professionally with management, clients, inspectors, and team members
•     Valid Alabama driver's license with a clean driving record
•     Physical ability to perform the demands of the role including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces when required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•     Experience with building automation systems (BAS), motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), or power distribution systems
•     Familiarity with energy efficiency upgrades, LED retrofits, or renewable energy systems
•     Prior experience managing or mentoring a team of electricians
•     Experience working within a large facility, manufacturing environment, or complex commercial setting
•     Electrical Contractor License or ability to obtain one in Alabama — a meaningful plus
