Key responsibilities include: Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment. Diagnose and repair diesel engines, brakes, electrical systems, drivetrains, steering, suspension, HVAC, air, and hydraulic systems. Conduct DOT inspections and identify safety or compliance issues. Repair and replace tires, wheels, hubs, bearings, brakes, and related components. Identify developing equipment issues and recommend repairs before they result in breakdowns or extended downtime. Complete work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation accurately and on time. Communicate repair findings, recommendations, and equipment status professionally with customers and management. Follow company, OSHA, DOT, and customer-site safety requirements. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition. This is a hands-on, customer-focused role for a Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in quality repairs, troubleshooting problems, and keeping commercial equipment operating safely and reliably. Minimum Qualifications Required Minimum of 1 year of heavy-duty truck and trailer repair experience Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record FMCSA DOT and brake inspector certification or ability to meet certification requirements Working knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, electrical, drivetrain, steering, and suspension systems Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues Basic computer skills for electronic work orders and service documentation Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize repairs Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills About Our Client Our client is a family-owned organization with more than five decades of experience serving its customers and community.
