About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 15 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in medical-surgical/telemetry License: Oregon RN license is acceptable if pending Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Telemetry experience Ability to float if needed, including to other facilities Description: The position involves providing care to patients with surgical and non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions. The unit specializes in general orthopedic patients with fractures and other traumatic injuries, degenerative diseases, congenital disorders, and infections. The unit also cares for patients undergoing total joint replacements and other musculoskeletal surgeries. Strong interdisciplinary teamwork is emphasized to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. Nurses without orthopedic experience are welcome to apply, as education will be provided upon hire. Required skills include the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, oxygen protocols, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, and rapid response team activation. Patient ratios are typically 1 nurse to 4-6 patients. Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, and social services. The patient population includes adults and geriatric patients with musculoskeletal disorders. Travelers may be required to float within the facility or to nearby facilities.
