Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care UnitAmerican TravelerColumbus, Ohio, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 16Openings: 1$2,246.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU night shift position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and an active OH or compact RN license.DetailsMixed acuity Surgical Oncology unit caring for both PCU and Medical/Surgical patients on a busy surgical floorAdult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including surgical oncology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and plastics/reconstructive cancersStaffing ratio goal is 1:4, potentially up to 1:5Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:30)May be scheduled as a rotating 12-hour day/night contract with assignments reviewed every 4-week periodVariable weekend scheduling based on unit needs; no set or blocked scheduling offeredFloat within scope of practice may be requiredSpecial procedures include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin and heparin drips, and management of oncologic emergencies including cytokine release syndromeHeavy focus on infection prevention protocols and fall preventionUses Epic for chartingRequirementsActive OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submissionMinimum 2 years of current acute care experience within the last 12 monthsAt least 1 year of PCU experience requiredRequired certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSSONS Chemo certification preferredOncology experience preferred but not requiredExperience with respiratory care, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), and tracheostomy care preferredExperience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response requiredEducation must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing programEpic charting experience required2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not acceptedAdditional InformationProvide direct nursing care to surgical oncology patients including chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, and management of oncologic emergenciesWillingness to learn and grow nursing practice is valued; travel experience not requiredFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyFormer employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6 months away from the facilityCurrent employees are ineligible for a travel assignment at this health systemLocal candidates accepted at the same rateCandidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelinesRTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
