About the Role

As our HR Operations and Benefits Analyst, you'll be the data and systems backbone of our Human Resources team — keeping employee records accurate across HR, Payroll, and our benefit carriers, making sure staff get timely, clear answers about their benefits, and turning workforce data into insights that help leadership plan for the future. This is a newly created role, which means you'll have a real hand in shaping how HR operations run at Anixter Center. You'll report to the Assistant Director of Human Resources and partner closely with Payroll, Finance, and IT.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, hourly role, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and a hybrid schedule may be available.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a key administrator for our HRIS — troubleshooting user issues, monitoring onboarding and termination workflows, and running regular data audits to keep employee records clean and accurate.
• Be a responsive, go-to contact for staff benefits questions, and process enrollments, qualifying life events, COBRA notices, and retirement plan deferral changes.
• Help lead annual Open Enrollment, from testing system setups to distributing staff communications to final election audits.
• Reconcile monthly carrier invoices against HRIS and payroll deduction records, and resolve billing discrepancies with carriers and our benefits broker.
• Build workforce reports and analyses in Excel that support executive reporting, headcount forecasting, and budget planning, and prepare data for ACA, EEO-1, and retirement plan compliance filings.
• Streamline manual processes, automate spreadsheet tasks, and write clear SOPs that make everyday HR operations run smoother.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience (required).
• 3+ years of experience in HR operations, HR analytics, or data analysis, including hands-on work with open enrollment, invoice reconciliation, and COBRA/FMLA/leave tracking (required).
• Strong Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data visualization, plus experience with an HRIS such as ADP, UKG, or Workday.
• Working knowledge of ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and HIPAA, and the discretion to handle confidential employee and health information with care.
• SHRM-CP, aPHR, or PHR certification and nonprofit, healthcare, or multi-site human services experience a plus.
• A genuine commitment to nonprofit, mission-driven work.
