About the Role: As a Scrub Tech I, you will assist in providing safe, effective care to surgical patients by supporting surgeons and the operating room team throughout surgical procedures. You'll play a key role in ensuring equipment readiness, maintaining sterile environments, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Key Responsibilities: Prepare the OR with instruments, sutures, and supplies Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping Maintain accurate counts of surgical instruments and sponges Support aseptic and sterile techniques Handle surgical specimens appropriately Ensure equipment is in working order before procedures Demonstrate professional and courteous communication with patients, staff, and physicians Uphold HIPAA standards and patient privacy Contribute to patient safety initiatives and error prevention strategies Qualifications: Completion of a surgical technology program or equivalent prior training Current CPR certification (hospital-based) Minimum 1 year of OR experience preferred Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and instrument care Ability to work in physically demanding and high‑stress environments Commitment to teamwork, flexibility, and continuous learning Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and exposure to blood‑borne pathogens and surgical fumes Physical requirements include the ability to lift to 100 lbs Must be comfortable working in fast‑paced OR settings with a diverse patient population (infant to geriatric) Why Join Russellville Hospital?
