Your specific responsibilities include providing medical services in the area of disease control in the comprehensive care clinic and mobile medical unit, providing coverage for HIV and STI care. Serves as a consultant for physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in the disease control division. This position reports directly to the medical executive director. Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Perform histories, physicals, and evaluate risk factors within the standards of accepted medical practice and protocols
• Perform and/or order labs, diagnostic procedures, and make appropriate referrals as necessary
• Analyze data and use problem solving skills while working within a team environment
• Maintain patients' records and ensure timely entry of each encounter in the electronic health record
• Provide guidance regarding appropriate community resources
• Provide HIV and STI services to males and females as indicated
• Provide family planning services as indicated
• Provide primary and specialty care services to patients who seek care at the comprehensive care center including the mobile medical unit
• Provide pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis, as well as any preventative services
• Provide test and treat services
• Provide comprehensive health assessment of client's physical, psychosocial, and environmental status in order to develop, implement, monitor, and modify a plan of care

• Positively collaborate with management team, other physicians, clinical associates, nurses, and other clinical and clerical support staff to develop, maintain, and provide an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care management

• Provide consultation to physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician associates as needed
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
• Provide supervision of clinical staff, medical students, interns/residents, and/or other healthcare professional students
• Attend medical and administrative meetings
• Assist with coverage for any DOH-Duval clinic site as needed
• Prepare and facilitate presentations as requested
• Assist with staff training
• Conduct chart reviews
• Implement clinical guidelines and protocols along with updates or revisions when needed
• Perform other duties as required

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

• Basic knowledge of commonly used software, such as Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Principles and processes for providing good customer services
• Structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
• Information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities
• Human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
• Ability to navigate a computer keyboard with efficiency and accuracy and at a speed that facilitates completion of documentation at point of care

Minimum qualifications include an active and in good standing license as a doctor of medicine (MD)/doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO). Preferred candidates have at least six months of providing care to patients with communicable diseases such as HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
