Counselor

BCCS is Seeking a Full-time Counselor for our First Stop DUI Program! Are you eager to assist a client through their Mental Health and Substance Use recovery process in an outpatient therapeutic setting? We are seeking a Counselor to provide supportive, person-centered counseling services to individuals in a compassionate way. What You’ll Do At BCCS Deliver quality and competent care to all BCCS clients, including but not limited to individual, family and group counseling. Complete all scheduled intakes & assessments and make appropriate recommendations for either education or outpatient treatment. Create a treatment plan based on the client’s assessment. Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the client’s electronic record. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Facilitate groups using identified curriculum. Confer with the Clinical Supervisor on a daily basis for casing. Ensure that the DUI tracking system is updated within the identified timeline with client status. Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment clinical practices. Knowledge of the population being served and available resources. Ability to evaluate and screen clients for appropriate treatment and document progress of clients. May require crisis intervention for emergency situations. Skill in establishing rapport with clients. Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Requirements Qualifications for the position are: Minimum of an associate degree with CADC, or bachelor's degree. REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field. REQUIRED: 1 year experience in the Substance Abuse Field and/or Mental Health. Within 2 years, must have obtained certification as CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor). Schedule Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. One late shift during the week of 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Salary Starting at $21/hour Commensurate with experience, education, and certification!
