As a Collector I, you'll play an important role in supporting our members through challenging financial situations while helping protect the credit union's assets. You'll work directly with members to resolve delinquent accounts and create solutions that meet their needs - all while delivering Remarkable Member Service. What You'll Be Doing You'll serve as a key point of contact for members with past due or negative accounts; connecting with them by phone, email, or in person to understand their situation and provide solutions. From monitoring delinquent loans to arranging repayment plans, you'll take a proactive approach to account resolution. You'll document collection activity, perform account research, and ensure member records are accurate and up to date. You'll also support administrative processes like processing payment arrangements, preparing notices, assisting with credit reporting, and ensuring documentation is complete for accounts moving toward legal or recovery actions. Most importantly, you'll build positive, respectful relationships with members - approaching each interaction with professionalism, discretion, and care. What You Bring to the Table Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive financial conversations tactfully. Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify solutions that benefit both the member and the organization. Basic computer proficiency and the ability to document and manage account information effectively. Strong organizational and time management abilities. A detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance. The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism under pressure. We welcome candidates who can communicate in more than one language. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus, as it helps us better serve our diverse community. Preferred Experience: 6+ months of First Commerce experience or 1+ year of collections experience, preferably within a financial institution. High school diploma or equivalent. Why First Commerce?
