Business Manager/Accountant

Our client, a boutique professional services firm, is seeking a Business Manager/Accountant to support a portfolio of high-touch clients with day-to-day financial management and accounting services. 

Location:
San Rafael, CA. This position is primarily hybrid with schedule flexibility.

Job Description: 
This role offers broad exposure across budgeting, cash management, payroll, and client advisory work, with the opportunity to grow responsibilities over time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of client financial operations, including budgeting, cash receipts, and disbursements
• Support complex project-based accounting, including reconciliations and financial reporting
• Handle day-to-day business management activities such as bill pay and bookkeeping
• Prepare and review financial statements and client reports
• Perform cash management activities, including bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and projections
• Process payroll and related filings, including payroll taxes and year-end reporting
• Coordinate with external parties such as advisors, vendors, and international counterparts as needed
• Supervise junior staff and assist with task prioritization and workflow management
• Organize, track, and manage multiple client deliverables and deadlines simultaneously
• Provide responsive, high-touch communication and support to clients and their teams

Requirements:

• 3 years of experience in accounting, business management, or client-service–oriented finance roles
• Strong general ledger and transactional accounting knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with accounting and bookkeeping tools
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines with minimal supervision
