We’re looking for a driven, outgoing Commercial Insurance Sales Producer who enjoys meeting business owners, building relationships, and creating new opportunities.

This is a business development role for someone who isn’t afraid to pick up the phone, walk into a business, attend a networking event, or introduce themselves to a potential referral partner.

You’ll work with local businesses to understand their operations, identify their insurance needs, and help them find coverage that protects what they’ve worked hard to build.

Responsibilities

• Generate new commercial insurance business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and community involvement
• Build relationships with local business owners and decision-makers
• Develop referral partnerships with professionals such as lenders, real estate professionals, accountants, attorneys, payroll providers, and other business partners
• Conduct outbound calls, emails, business visits, and follow-up with prospective clients
• Learn about each business’s operations, exposures, and insurance needs
• Gather information needed to market and quote commercial accounts
• Present insurance options and explain coverage in a clear, approachable way
• Sell a variety of commercial insurance products, including General Liability, Commercial Property, Business Owners Policies (BOP), Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Auto, and other business coverages
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional coverage
• Consistently follow up with prospects and maintain an active sales pipeline
• Ask for referrals and introductions to other business owners
• Maintain accurate prospect and sales activity within the agency CRM
• Meet individual sales and prospecting goals
• Attend networking, business, and community events to represent the agency and develop new relationships
• Work closely with the agency team to provide an excellent client experience from prospecting through policy issuance

Requirements

Strong sales and business-development mindset

Naturally outgoing and comfortable approaching business owners and decision-makers

Confident prospecting by phone, email, networking, and in person

Self-motivated and able to generate opportunities independently

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Persistent follow-up skills without being pushy
• Organized and capable of managing a pipeline with multiple accounts at different stages
• Comfortable learning about different industries and business operations
• Goal-oriented, competitive, and motivated by results
• Coachable, dependable, and willing to learn
• Previous B2B sales, business development, commercial insurance, or networking experience is a plus
• Property Casualty insurance license required — not licensed yet? No problem! We’ll pay for your licensing and help you through the process.
