Aerotek is hiring Electrical Test Technicians – 1st Shift

Location: Hanover, MD

Job Summary

Join a newly built, fast‑growing manufacturing facility where you’ll perform hands‑on electrical testing on large switchboards and power distribution equipment before it leaves the production floor. New hires start on a standard Monday–Friday training schedule before transitioning into a 12‑hour 6:00 AM–6:00 PM rotating 2‑2‑3 shift

What You’ll Be Doing

• Test electrical switchboards and electrical panels
• Use testing tools such as multimeters, Hi-Pot testers, and Meggers
• Make sure wiring is correct and the equipment operates properly
• Look for issues and report anything that needs to be fixed
• Read wiring diagrams and follow written instructions
• Record test results and fill out simple paperwork
• Work with production and engineering when problems come up
• Keep test tools in good condition and follow all safety rules
• Complete a full week of training before starting on the floor

These switchboards are large, commercial-grade power distribution units used in buildings, hospitals, and industrial sites.

What They’re Looking For:

Required:

• Associate degree in electrical technology or similar hands-on electrical experience
• 2+ years testing or troubleshooting electrical equipment
• Able to use multimeters, Hi-Pot testers, Meggers, or similar tools
• Able to read wiring diagrams or schematics
• Comfortable working with electrical systems
• Good attention to detail and able to follow safety procedures

Preferred:

• Experience with UL 891 or NEC
• NETA or similar certification
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and move heavier equipment when needed

Work Environment:

• Brand-new, modern manufacturing facility
• 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule
• Safety glasses and protective sleeves provided
• Must wear steel-toed boots and long pants
• Fast-paced environment with a lot of hands-on work
• Standing/walking for most of the shift
• Temperature can vary depending on the area of the floor

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
