Job Description We are seeking an experienced Lactation Consultant to provide exceptional care to mothers and infants. This role requires expertise in newborn care and the ability to assist with breastfeeding support and education. Responsibilities Provide lactation consulting services and support to mothers and newborns. Conduct assessments of newborns, including vital signs and glucose screenings. Assist with complex feeding situations and educate parents on breastfeeding techniques. Administer medications and other treatments as required. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. Participate in staff training and education programs related to lactation and newborn care. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered nurse, specifically in maternal and newborn care. Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and IBCLC. Experience with EPIC charting system preferred. Must be skilled in administering magnesium sulfate, insulin, PCA/PCEA, and heparin infusions. Ability to float within the hospital as needed.
