Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift role requiring adult critical care and high-volume trauma ED experience.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy unit within a Level 2 Trauma Center hospital licensed for 767 beds
• Cares for respiratory patients throughout the hospital including SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, and Trauma areas
• Pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and transported to a sister hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 schedule, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend hours and call requirements as needed by facility
• Floating as required by facility
• Uses Avea ventilators, LTV transport, V60 Bipap, Vapotherm, and Airvo high flow equipment
• Bellavista ventilators expected to be added soon
• EMR system is EPIC
• Patient ratios based on a point system dependent on staffing

Requirements

• RRT license required if applicable, must be licensed with the Missouri Board for Respiratory Care
• BLS and ACLS certification from AHA required
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in respiratory therapy
• Adult critical care experience required
• High-volume, busy ED with trauma experience required
• Blood gas draw, processing on GEM, and interpretation skills preferred
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1 through April 1, declinations not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across multiple critical care and specialty units including SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, and Trauma
• Strong, confident therapist with good time management skills who is willing to assist coworkers as needed
• Mercy standard black scrubs required
• Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed, must be made up during the assignment
• Local candidates accepted within 50 miles at a reduced bill rate
• Candidates within 50 miles are restricted to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year break or transfer to a facility outside the radius
