Maintenance Worker – Chicagoland South Suburbs Job Type: Full-time (Union Position). Location: Chicagoland South Suburbs. Salary: $22–$28 per hour. Why Work Here? Purpose To perform basic general repair and building maintenance in residential homes and other day program facilities. Essential Responsibilities Assessment of repair requirements including cost estimate and time to complete. Simple carpentry requiring use of hand tools. Exterior maintenance and occasional landscaping work. Drywall repair/patching, priming and painting. Furniture moving, changing light bulbs, cleaning and proper storage of maintenance tools. Basic knowledge of carpentry and general maintenance. Ability to use hand tools effectively. Experience in exterior maintenance and landscaping is a plus. Drywall repair and painting skills preferred. Physical ability to perform the tasks mentioned (standing, walking, lifting, etc.). Physical Demands Physical requirements may include standing, walking, and sitting; seeing; hearing and listening; clear speech; dexterity and use of hands and fingers. Work Environment The work environment is usually low to moderate noise. Tasks may involve working alone or with others, verbal contact, and face‑to‑face contact.
