About the Position

Job Title: Sleep Lab Tech Analyst Profession: Clinical-Allied Specialty: Sleep Lab Tech Analyst Duration: 13 weeks Shift: First Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Less than one year of job-related experience License: Required Licensure includes Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist Sleep Disorders Specialist (RRT-SDS) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist Sleep Disorders Specialist (CRT-SDS) credential. Certifications: BLS, must obtain BLS within 90 days of hire. Must-Have: Strong knowledge of sleep physiology, sleep disorders, and diagnostic criteria. Description: Analyze and interpret sleep study data obtained from patients undergoing diagnostic testing for sleep-related disorders. Use specialized software and equipment to analyze sleep patterns, respiratory events, and physiological parameters. Provide accurate and detailed reports to assist clinicians in diagnosing and treating patients with sleep disorders. Utilize polysomnography (PSG) and other sleep monitoring equipment to record and analyze physiological data during sleep studies. Review and interpret sleep study data to identify sleep stages, sleep architecture, respiratory events, movement disorders, and other sleep-related phenomena. Apply scoring criteria and guidelines to classify sleep stages, respiratory events, and other physiological parameters accurately. Maintain accurate records of sleep study data, including patient demographics, test settings, and analysis results. Generate comprehensive sleep study reports summarizing findings, interpretation of results, and recommendations for clinical management. Collaborate with clinicians, sleep physicians, and other healthcare providers to communicate analysis results and facilitate patient care decisions. Ensure adherence to established protocols, standards, and regulatory requirements for sleep study data acquisition, analysis, and reporting. Participate in quality assurance activities, including inter-scorer reliability checks, peer review sessions, and proficiency testing. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues or equipment malfunctions related to sleep study data acquisition and analysis. Assist in the setup and preparation of patients for sleep studies, ensuring comfort, safety, and compliance with testing procedures. Educate patients about the purpose of sleep studies, the equipment used during testing, and what to expect. Provide support and reassurance to patients during sleep studies, monitoring for signs of discomfort, anxiety, or adverse reactions. Stay abreast of advancements in sleep medicine, sleep study techniques, and diagnostic technologies through continuing education. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to exchange knowledge and enhance patient care outcomes.
