Registered Respiratory Therapist- Full-Time Days

Job Title Full‑Time Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Day shift, full‑time, 3‑12 hour shifts (6:45 am–7:15 pm). Candidates 6 months from graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program are welcome to apply. Sign‑on Bonus: $10,000. Overview Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services and is a Magnet hospital. The Respiratory Team provides treatment and therapy for infants and adults and performs procedures such as mechanical and non‑invasive ventilation, nitric oxide delivery, arterial blood gas sampling, pulmonary function testing, and more. The department offers a clinical ladder program for professional growth. Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities related to respiratory care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation within the guidelines of the hospital and department. Can independently apply advanced clinical respiratory expertise and scientific knowledge, serving as a resource to others as part of the patient care team. Ensures patient safety by providing care in an effective, developmentally and age‑appropriate manner while complying with all quality and regulatory requirements as well as quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Effectively communicates by participating in the exchange of information, including documentation, hand‑off, and works collaboratively with the healthcare team. Provides education and training about respiratory therapy treatments and procedures to patients, families, students, new employees and healthcare team members, addressing diverse learning styles. Maintains self‑accountability, seeks opportunities for continuous learning and feedback, and performs multiple related duties, prioritizing and managing time effectively. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures according to established standards, procedures, guidelines and policies, applying respiratory knowledge and clinical expertise to assess, analyze and troubleshoot as needed. Demonstrates advanced clinical and critical care skills to support responsibilities such as ECMO support, mechanical ventilator support, bronchoscopies, sleep lab, labor and delivery, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and Basic Life Support (BLS). Minimum Requirements Associate degree or CoARC accredited program in Respiratory Therapy. No prior experience required. No supervisory experience required. Certifications: Basic Cardiovascular Life Support, Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT. Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree.
