Supervisor of Patient Access

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Supervisor of Patient Access to oversee the daily operations of patient access functions and ensure exceptional service throughout the patient registration and scheduling experience. This role serves as a key liaison between patients, clinical departments, revenue cycle teams, and organizational leadership, promoting operational efficiency, customer service excellence, and regulatory compliance across all patient access activities. The Supervisor of Patient Access provides leadership and support to Patient Access staff while driving standardization, workflow optimization, training, and performance improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, financial clearance processes, and revenue cycle support while fostering a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Compensation Range: per hour, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities

Supervise daily work of the operational training team, including assignments, priorities, coaching, and escalation of training needs.

Partner with leaders to assess training needs and develop standardized curriculum, workflows, job aids, and training plans.

Oversee delivery and maintenance of training for system-wide clerical operational workflows.

Coordinate with system administrators to update training materials for system changes, upgrades, and new functionality.

Lead training readiness for implementations, go-live events, workflow changes, and operational transitions.

Monitor training quality, completion tracking, competency validation, and follow-up support across departments.

Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and operational workflow training.

Strong technology skills, including the ability to learn systems quickly, troubleshoot basic user issues, create digital training resources, and support adoption of new tools and workflows.

Ability to supervise, prioritize, and evaluate training staff while promoting accountability and consistency.

Knowledge of healthcare compliance expectations, including HIPAA, CMS, and Joint Commission standards.

Excellent facilitation, communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.

Collaborative, solutions-focused leadership style with the ability to support change and performance improvement.

Education/Experience

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in training, staff development, healthcare operations, or related education role.

Experience delivering in-person, remote, and technology-supported training.

Prior supervisory, team leadership, educator, preceptor, or coordinator experience required or strongly preferred.

Experience with Epic/EHR workflows, Microsoft 365, learning platforms, reporting tools, or other operational technology preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
