Job Title: Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health Profession: RN - Behavioral Health Specialty: RN - Behavioral Health Duration: 8 hours Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Preferred acute care facility experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice Certifications: - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor - Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) - AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS - AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS Must-Have: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment. Collects relevant data pertinent to patients' health or situation. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to achieve desired outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for patients or their situations. Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing care in a safe, healing, and humane environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients and family members, as well as team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and the treatment team. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Commits to the safety and well-being of associates and patients, requiring all associates to receive all required vaccinations. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. This unit provides evaluation and treatment for patients of all ages diagnosed with acute psychiatric, behavioral, or mental health disorders.
