We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Associate to join our team and support the upkeep of our Assisted Living community. As a Temporary Maintenance Associate, you will help ensure our community remains comfortable, functional, and well‑maintained for residents, families, and team members. What You’ll Do Assist with general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the community Help maintain a safe, clean, and attractive environment for residents and staff Respond to routine maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner Support preventative maintenance tasks and basic equipment checks Assist with light carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC-related tasks as needed Help with moving furniture, setting up rooms, and completing seasonal projects Monitor common areas, resident spaces, and exterior grounds for maintenance needs Report safety concerns, hazards, or repair issues to the appropriate team members Support housekeeping, environmental services, and other departments as needed Follow all safety procedures and community policies while completing assigned tasks What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous maintenance, facilities, or handyman experience preferred Basic knowledge of general repair and maintenance tasks Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and problem‑solving skills Reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing priorities Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical tasks as needed A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed Why Join Us? Responsibilities The Environmental Services Associate‑Maintenance is responsible to assist in the general operational maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the Community’s physical plant. The Environmental Services Associate‑Maintenance is also responsible to communicate and help coordinate the necessary tasks to accomplish repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment systems. Helps to perform general maintenance work (light, electrical, painting, carpentry, etc.). Demonstrates excellent mechanical skills. Understands HVAC and may be asked to operate and/or maintain equipment. Replenishes and maintains supply levels in work areas. Assures all tools, work areas, and equipment are clean, in proper working order, and properly stored. Helps to assure that the Community environment and all equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience. Consistently and routinely maintains and repairs assigned equipment and reports any hazardous conditions. Routinely replaces light bulbs, exit lights, room call lights, etc., where needed. Conducts daily inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to determine necessary maintenance and repairs, if requested to do so. Helps to assure that other team members follow established safety practices (OSHA). Responsible for maintaining the general appearance of the building including, but not limited to, assisting and cleaning up after events and general clean up during scheduled shift, and arranging furniture on an ongoing basis. Helps to maintain a preventative maintenance log on all mechanical systems. Establishes and manages a preventative maintenance schedule. Maintains an effective work‑order system procedure. Participates in in‑service training. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent Resident care information. Responsible for weekly submission of invoices and spend‑down report to Environmental Services Director. Performs other duties as required. Maintains a clean and orderly laundry room and stores chemicals in accordance with product and Environmental Services Director instructions. Helps to ensure that all safety rules and regulations are followed at all times. Follows and promotes all safety policies and procedures when performing maintenance service. Perform Resident Emergency Call System checks in Resident units when requested. Reports on‑the‑job injuries to the Environmental Services Director before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs. Communicates effectively with Environmental Services Director and other team members. Qualifications Must possess a High School Diploma. Must be knowledgeable as to maintenance and housekeeping policies and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the Community. Understands the practices surrounding proper handling of biohazardous waste. Demonstrates competency in the performance of duties and responsibilities through the utilization of sound judgment and the reporting of unusual problems/conditions to the Environmental Services Director. Must possess a valid Driver’s License, preferably a Commercial Driver’s License. Able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Able to effectively write simple correspondence. Basic familiarity with computers. Able to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members. Physically able to bend and reach. Physically able to push and pull and lift up to 60 pounds if necessary. Physically able to stand for extended periods of time.
