As An automotive painter and prepper is responsible for preparing and painting vehicles to restore or enhance their appearance. Their duties typically include: Surface Preparation: Sanding, masking, and priming vehicle surfaces to ensure smooth paint application. Inspection: Identifying imperfections, scratches, or dents that need repair before painting. Paint Mixing & Application: Mixing paints to match colors and applying them using spray guns or other techniques. Detailing & Finishing: Applying clear coats, polishing, and ensuring a high-quality finish. Safety & Maintenance: Keeping the workspace clean, maintaining equipment, and following safety protocols. Automotive Finishes: Familiarity with different types of paints, clear coats, and protective finishes. Quality Control – Ability to inspect painted surfaces for imperfections and ensure a high-quality finish. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of painting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in an automotive body shop setting. Let me know if you need more details! Responsibilities Cleaning, sanding, and priming vehicle surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion. Selecting and blending paints to match existing colors or customer preferences. Using spray guns and other tools to apply primer, base coats, and clear coats. Inspecting painted surfaces for imperfections and ensuring a smooth, high-quality finish. Following safety protocols when handling hazardous materials and maintaining a clean workspace. Ensuring the final product meets customer expectations and industry standards. Choose the right grit sandpaper to ensure proper adhesion. Cover windows, trim, and parts that shouldn’t be painted. Use a high-quality primer to prepare the surface for paint. Qualifications Summary – Automotive Painter (3-5 Years Experience) Experienced Automotive Painter with five years of expertise in vehicle refinishing, color matching, and paint application. Adept at surface preparation, paint mixing, and utilizing advanced spray techniques to achieve high-quality finishes. Skilled in repairing imperfections, ensuring durability, and following industry safety regulations.
