McGrath Honda of Elgin is seeking an experienced Used Car Technician to join our team of dedicated automotive professionals. The right candidate will assist in the repair, service, and maintenance of our used cars, ensuring that all vehicles meet the highest customer standards for quality and performance. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Compensation & Benefits: This is a full-time position offering a base plus commission compensation package, including paid vacation and holidays. Additional benefits include health and dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, and suspension issues related to used car repairs
• Use diagnostic equipment to determine necessary repairs
• Complete vehicle repairs in a timely manner following established procedural guidelines
• Must be able to identify necessary force, equipment, and parts needed for repair
• Ensure accuracy of all repairs and inspect quality of workmanship
• Maintain a clean and orderly shop environment in compliance with safety regulations
• Keep accurate records of all service and repair work performed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Used Car Technician
• ASE Certified preferred
• Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and repair techniques
• Must be able to lift 80 lbs.
• Must possess a valid drivers license
• Ability to read and interpret documents
• Good communication skills
