Take drink orders and provide cashier service to guests of the Casino Resort. Obtains or receives merchandise, totals bill, accepts payment, and makes change for customers in retail store. Maintains the overall appearance of the Café during assigned shift, which may include dishwashing,

Encourage repeat business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be added, changed or deleted at the sole discretion of management.

• Takes and prepare orders from customers.

· Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.

· Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.

· Accepts payment and makes change.

· Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.

· Must card for legal requirements.

• Maintains the Café in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition, which may include washing walls and mopping floors. Also maintaining the lobby area on a regular basis.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly workstation at all times: cleans shelves, counters, or tables
• Assists in maintaining the Café inventory: stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise, advertising displays, restocks cigarettes, condiments, perishables at the end of each shift.
• Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise
• May prepare food and beverage in advance, if heavy guest volume is expected.
• Reports guest comments to supervisor regarding menu prices, recipes, food quality and related issues.
• Provides constructive input to foster process improvement within the department.
• Additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. This includes the ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.

MATH SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, tips, and return on cash transactions.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

No computer skills are necessary for this position

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS

Must qualify for and maintain an Elk Valley Rancheria Gaming license.

The following trainings will be offered post-employment and are required within the training schedule timeframe: Title 31, ServSafe, sexual harassment prevention, ladder safety, safety orientation for food service, safety orientation, back safety, bloodborne pathogens, cyber security, hazard communication and office ergonomics.
