Ascension FBO is seeking dependable, safety-focused individuals to join our team as Line Service Technicians. In this role, you will provide aircraft ground support and deliver professional customer service to pilots, flight crews, and passengers.
This is an entry-level position. No previous aviation experience is required, and comprehensive training is provided.
This position requires scheduling flexibility and availability to work the assigned shift, including weekends and holidays. Occasional overtime or schedule adjustments may be required based on operational needs.
Position Objective
The Line Service Technician represents Ascension FBO in a positive and professional manner while providing safe and efficient aviation ground services. Success in this position requires following established safety procedures, working effectively as part of a team, and creating a positive experience for every customer.
Primary Responsibilities
- Fuel, tow, wing-walk, park, and provide general ground support for various aircraft in accordance with established procedures.
- Marshal arriving and departing aircraft safely and efficiently.
- Greet pilots, flight crews, passengers, and customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Assist with aircraft parking, hangar operations, and other ramp-service needs.
- Participate in all new-hire, safety, equipment, and recurrent training.
- Perform routine inspections of fuel trucks, ground-support equipment, facilities, and hangars, and document findings.
- Keep the airport ramp, hangars, equipment, and facilities clean, organized, and free of debris.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain high standards of safety, customer service, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Communicate customer requests and feedback to the appropriate Ascension FBO personnel.
- Perform lawn care, janitorial, and other facility-support duties as assigned.
- Immediately report safety incidents, equipment concerns, or potential hazards to management.
- Follow emergency and incident-response procedures when required.
- Treat customers, coworkers, and business partners with courtesy and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- No previous aviation experience required.
- Willingness and ability to successfully complete all required training.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow detailed safety procedures.
- Excellent customer-service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to write legibly and perform basic math.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced aviation environment.
- Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a commercial driver’s license or equipment certifications if required for the position.
- Reliable and consistent work history.
Physical and Work Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and inclement weather, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and snow.
- Ability to work safely in and around an active airport ramp, aircraft, fuel trucks, and ground-support equipment.
- Sufficient vision, awareness, and coordination to safely move or direct fuel trucks, equipment, and hoses.
- Ability to frequently walk, stand, stretch, bend, sit, stoop, reach, grasp, and climb.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to remain active and on your feet for extended periods.
- Availability to work the assigned schedule, including weekends and holidays, with occasional overtime as operationally necessary.
