Assistant Professor - Data Science

Assistant Professor – Data Science Mount St. Mary's University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Data Science beginning August 2026. This full‑time position is part of the continued growth of the University’s Data Science program and carries the potential for renewal or conversion to a tenure‑track appointment pending institutional approval. Responsibilities The successful candidate will teach four undergraduate courses per semester, including Introduction to Data Science, Exploratory Data Analysis, Machine Learning, and related programming or major electives. Opportunities to contribute to graduate instruction and program development are available. Qualifications Master's degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, or a closely related field. Demonstrated commitment to effective undergraduate teaching. Experience with contemporary data science tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL). Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $65,000 to $70,000 per year (Actual compensation commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications).
