Job Summary

Collaborates with the teacher to provide a successful experience for all students. Prepares a variety of instructional materials and learning aids for use with individual or small groups of students then tutors individual and small groups of students to reinforce and follow up learning activities. Directs students into safe learning activities and functions and assists in shaping appropriate social behaviors. Instructs students in school wide initiatives to support the whole child in academics, social-emotional learning and behavior needs. Assists in the management of student behavior through the use of positive reinforcement strategies and techniques. Administers routine first aid and requests assistance for non-routine injury or illness. Performs non-instructional classroom duties, i.e. recess and lunch supervision. Completes required professional development requirements. Performs other duties as requested by the vice principal.
