Sr. Java Fullstack Developer – Albany, New York – 24 Months – NY State - Information Technology Services (ITS) – Job ID: SLG - 26 - 12149 – Apply by: 07/14/26 5:00 PM Description Based on Governor's Office priorities, there are crucial initiatives that benefit New York State Higher Education Services (HESC) and are part of the ITS/HESC project portfolio. This position will supplement the GLP development staff for governor initiatives resulting from the 2023 NYS Budget and that effect HESC's Grants and Scholarship as well as Loan Forgiveness programs. Duties Participate on teams for projects that have a Web functional component. Prepare size and scope analysis and timeline documentation. Analyze and document business requirements by participating in Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions, interviewing Business Area Experts, etc. Develop prototypes based on the requirements and prepare Internal and External Design documents in accordance with HESC's System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Using Analysis and Design documents, develop, document, and maintain programs, modules, classes, objects, Web pages, etc., as applicable. Environment consists of JAVA J2EE development using IBM's Rational Software Architect, Java Server Pages (JSP), and Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) on WebSphere Application Server. Configure local WebSphere Application Server resources and bindings for local application deployment and testing. Create development test plans and prepare and/or refresh test conditions and associated accounts. Following the test plan, execute unit, run stream, subsystem, and regression tests as needed. Review all test results, comparing the results to the identified conditions. Debug and rerun as needed. Provide business area and external customer support for the project deliverables. Act as a Web functional liaison with other units in Information Technology (IT) and with other Divisions in HESC. Provide information and support as needed. Follow all existing guidelines and recommend new guidelines for Web functional development. Mandatory Requirements Experience (12+ Years) Creates computer software. May specialize in one area of computer software or may write code for many kinds of software. Requirements This is an 100% Onsite. 84 Months of Experience configuring and deploying to WebSphere Application server environments. 84 Months Experience using IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA). 84 Months of Experience web application development in Java/J2EE programming language. 84 Months Experience using web browser-based development tools (in IE, Firefox, Chrome, or Edge) for debugging problems encountered with the usage of JavaScript, AJAX service calls, and CSS / HTML formatting.
