Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care in the Labor and Delivery unit, working both in labor and post-partum settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maternal and neonatal nursing, demonstrating the ability to handle the dynamics of labor and delivery as well as post-partum care.

Shift Details

This position is a night shift role, working three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend work is required, with a schedule rotation of every other weekend.

Average Daily Census

• Average of 8 deliveries per day
• Average of 15 post-partum patients per day

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery with post-partum experience required.
• Current certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
• Experience in performing sterile vaginal exams.
• Ability to use external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC (Intrauterine Pressure Catheter) placement and calibration.
• Knowledge in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) and managing/administering epidural anesthesia.

Additional Information

• Candidates pending licensure are accepted.
• Local candidates outside of a 100-mile radius are not eligible for this position.
• Floating within the scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs.
• Requested time off (RTO) is ideally limited to no more than 5 days.
• No parking fees are associated with this position.

Facility Overview

This is an acute care teaching facility with a total of 258 staffed beds and designated as a Level 2 Trauma Center. The unit uses Epic (Excellian) for charting and provides scrub colors through the unit.
