Job Description Tax Manager - Path to Partner Location: Fairlawn, OH Company: Emerald Resource Group (on behalf of our client) Are you a CPA with a passion for building relationships, mentoring others, and guiding clients through complex tax matters? We're working with a dynamic public accounting firm that's looking to bring on a Tax Manager -someone who thrives in a client-facing, leadership role and is ready to take the next big step in their career (yes, we're talking partner potential). In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing client engagements, supervising staff, and acting as a strategic tax advisor to a range of businesses and individuals. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both technical work and developing strong professional networks. What You'll Be Doing:

- Review individual and corporate tax returns (federal, state/local, and international)
- Provide in-depth consultation and research on complex tax issues
- Manage and support federal and state audits
- Oversee day-to-day workflow, job planning, and team supervision
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients across various industries
- 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience (required)
- CPA license (required for Manager-level role)
- Strong background in corporate and/or high-net-worth individual tax
- Proven leadership skills-you know how to coach and inspire a team
- Ability to work independently and analyze complex matters with confidence
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred)
- Experience or interest in a niche or specialized industry is a plus
- A growing network of professional contacts, referral sources, and industry connections
- Are building a reputation in a specific industry or practice area
- Have a knack for business development and enjoy bringing in new clients
