And as "one of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America" is focused on the mind/body/soul of team members through our Culture of Care.This Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and leading other team members in specifying mechanical and electro-mechanical parts and assemblies that will be used within products that are used within the renewable energy, microgrid, EV charging, crypto mining, and data center markets.The Lead Mechanical Engineer will support the Design Engineering team in the design and qualification of mechanical components, sub-systems, multi-level assemblies, and system architecture of various products that are used within the energy industry. This position will also work with other disciplines within the organization to understand customer and market requirements, design products to be easy to both manufacture and assemble, support products as they go through the Product Development Process, and support service and aftermarket needs.This position will direct other team members within the Design Engineering team in design activities and along with aligning these activities to the project timelines. These team members will be both designers and engineers. This position will provide coaching and mentoring for their team through regular interactions to provide scope and direction for project tasks along with providing growth opportunities to their team.The ability to understand high-level requirements and create detail-level requirements and designs will be key to meeting project objectives. With a strong focus on quality, manufacturability, and customer outcomes, we ensure every product is engineered to perform in the real world—safely, reliably, and at scale.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent8+ years of experienceWorking knowledge in 2D/3D CAD design softwareExperience with structural enclosures, mechanical assemblies, HVAC systems, mechanical piping, firefighting systems, and/or power generationProblem solving skills, root cause analysis, and corrective action experienceExperience in Bill of Material creation and Change Notice processesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS10 years of product design experienceDesign experience in electrical components or equipment within the energy industryDesign experience with programming languages and controls softwareManufacturing and field support experienceExperience in leading other team membersTravel: 10-25%Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role.Work Location: This role requires work to be done Onsite from our Menasha, WI office. Just minutes from Appleton and within easy reach of Green Bay and Milwaukee, Menasha combines small-town living with convenient access to dining, entertainment, sports, and regional travel, making it an ideal place to relocate and build a long-term career.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPlans, directs, and coordinates activities of their engineering team.Provides coaching and development opportunities for their team through regular interactions.Develops the design scope and timeline for their discipline within engineering projects.Responsible for meeting project requirements and timelinesResearch, create, and update engineering design standards to promote best practices.Supports the design of mechanical components and sub-systems for power/low voltage products including component selection, general layouts, assembly design and installation.Performs complex design calculations to ensure design compliance with project requirements or reviews others work for correctness.Studies and understands related government and industry standards that govern the products being developed.Produce relevant documentation needed to meet project goals, mechanical layouts, mechanical component prints, mechanical assemblies, and compliance documents.Interacts with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering staff on a regular basis.Participate and present technical information during design meetings or reviews.Supports the creation of 2D prints and 3D models at a system levelHelp develop product Bill of Material structures to allow for modularity and configurability of products.Reviews Bills of Materials and Change Notices to release components and assemblies.Support costing activities to ensure pricing targets are achieved at the project level.Supports the creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance of related products.Provide technical assistance for prototype and pilot builds along with production support as needed.Works with suppliers to integrate various components into higher level system designs.Supports service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed.Performs other related duties as required and assigned.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time other than the TN1 Visa (Canadian).The job description and responsibilities described are intended to provide guidelines for job expectations and the employee's ability to perform the position described.
