Serco is on the lookout for a dedicated Principal Military Trainer - Senior Operations Planner to support the Joint Staff J-7 with Tier 1 Combatant Command joint exercises. Key Responsibilities Act as a functional expert in the planning and preparation of joint and combined military exercises. Provide consulting expertise on military training and joint doctrine to military or defense clients. Collaborate with training audience representatives, Combatant Command Liaison Desk Officers, and fellow planners to design and plan effective military exercises. Produce essential exercise products, including Scenario, Road-to-Crisis (RTC), Adversary Campaign Plan, and Operational Environment Overview. Manage product development timelines and adjust suspense dates as needed. Engage in Global Integration initiatives and participate in planning conferences and coordination meetings. Join as a functional syndicate cell member during joint training events execution globally. Qualifications for Success U.S. citizenship. Active U.S. DoW Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of joint operational experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience. Minimum of 3 years' experience at a 3-star or 4-star Joint or Service Headquarters staff or an equivalent civilian role. Extensive knowledge of deploying joint forces alongside other national power instruments. Solid understanding of operational-level joint operations planning and execution. Familiarity with Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC), Universal Joint Task List (UJTL), and MSEL processes. Intermediate Service School graduate. Ability to obtain a valid U.S. Passport. Willingness to work on-site in Suffolk, Virginia, and travel up to 25% of the time. Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills. Adept at collaborating with senior military and civilian leaders. In-depth understanding of joint and multinational training and exercises. Preferred Qualifications Active U.S. DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Graduation from Joint Forces Staff College / JPME II and Senior Service School. Experience with Joint staff or OSW. Operational experience with General Officer / Flag Officer / Senior Executive Service (SES) leaders. Expertise in joint and strategic policy within the DOW community related to Operational Environment development.
