Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant will support the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment goals, plans, and programs to meet patients' long-term rehabilitation objectives. The role emphasizes patient safety, quality care, and effective communication. The ideal candidate will embrace the values of teamwork, results orientation, and resourcefulness while promoting a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals and programs as established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in various therapeutic interventions, including posture training, strength training, endurance training, and balance exercises.
• Train patients in locomotion via orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices.
• Monitor patient responses and make interventions as necessary.
• Document patient progress and engage in patient and family education.
• Maintain safety standards and compliance with safety, infection control, and clinic policies.
• Participate in team conferences and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• CAPTE Certification and active license for the state where work will be performed.
• 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR Certification.

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with a 5x8.0 schedule.
