Travel RN - Pediatric Stepdown: Ventilators/G-tubes Nights

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Stepdown position at a children's hospital in Illinois, requiring an active IL RN license and hands-on experience with vents, trachs, and G-tubes. Requirements Active Illinois RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration (Compact RN licenses are not accepted in IL; IL licenses can take up to 3 months to issue) Current certifications: BLS and PALS Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, and G-tubes required Experience with a 1:4 patient ratio required Meditech EMR experience required PICU experience preferred Responsibilities Inpatient Pediatric Stepdown unit within a children's hospital setting Unique 39-bed unit covering all pediatric specialties in a single inpatient unit Patient population ranges from 2 weeks to 18 years of age, with 50-60% of patients having some form of technology dependence Cares for children with chronic illness, including patients with tracheostomies on chronic ventilators — no drips, surgical, or transitional patients Patient ratio of 1:3-4 Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Every other weekend required Floating within scope required to meet facility needs No on-call required Block scheduling can be accommodated Charting performed in Meditech First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers All RTO must be approved and included in the contract prior to the start date — no RTO may be added after the contract begins Flu vaccine required; medical and religious exemptions are accepted Scrubs may be any color, neat and clean — pediatric-themed scrubs are encouraged Free parking available in the north and south lots (shared with the public, as the facility is located on a public park) 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
