Workers' Compensation Paralegal

Must Have Workers Comp Experience To Apply We are seeking a Workers Compensation Paralegal/Legal Assistant. The ideal applicant would have 4+ years of workers' compensation legal assistant and/or paralegal experience. Requirements Legal assistant/paralegal must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to type 50-60 wpm, and it would be an advantage if you have working knowledge of Client Profiles/Aderant or a similar case management system. This candidate must be eager to work with very busy attorneys, be self-motivated, and have a great attitude. Ability to handle high volume practice. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Preparation of pleadings including, but not limited to, motions, subpoenas, notices, hearings, and requests for production. Coordination/scheduling of meetings, hearings, appointments, and depositions. Managing deadlines, preparing attorneys for appointments. Drafting and composing typing routine correspondence, reading and routing of incoming mail, taking calls from clients, attorneys, adjusters, J.A.'s, opposing counsel, etc. Excellent organizational, secretarial and clerical skills (telephone & computer) required. Three years minimum experience. Experience with Aderant/Client Profiles programs preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred, however not required. Organized, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently with a great attitude. Good communication and customer service skills (must be professional and courteous). Work Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a 1-hour break for lunch.
